As part of our ongoing series, we focus on the goings on for the Professors of Evangelism.
We will be looking at incorporating a calendar system and event tracking for the Professors as our series moves forward.
Today we discuss Stephen Gunter and Achim Hartner.
Stephen Gunter - Director for the Professors of Evangelism, is currently presiding at Duke University, The Divinity School.
Stephen is currently developing the Methodist House for Methodist and Wesleyan tradition students at Duke. We give prayer to Dr. Gunter's endeavors.
During his Fall Term he will be teaching: “Forming Disciples in the Wesleyan Tradition” (1st Year M. Div. students)
As well, Dr. Gunter will present a readings seminar for doctoral students in Evangelism with Prof. Laceye Warner: “Evangelism and Missional Theology and Practice”
Professor Achim Hartner M.A. - Currently residing at The Theological Seminary of the Methodist Church in Reutlingen, Germany.
Some projects under his wing are:
Developed and compiled the Official Confirmation Program for the German Church.
Finalizing a Homiletics Textbook – Learning to Preach Today. Revisions were completed 3 weeks ago. The First United Methodist Authors are to be recognized by the official state society.
Other works include :Vol. 3 Practices and Principles of John Wesley and completing the German translation and cultural review (de-Americanizing) Bishop Robert Schnase’s Five Practices of a Fruitful Congregation. German translation to be published by the end of 2008.
As well, Vol. 6 Spiritual Formation in the last 50 Years (a presentation to be given in 2009 with Paul Chilcote as the featured speaker).
